Set up in 2009, White & MacLean Publishing focuses on using network technology and collaborative working practices in
a new approach to the publishing and marketing of books and documents
Traditional publishers have shackled themselves to a liberal-economics business model that encourages vertical integration
and the pursuit of the economies of scale. The result is that they have become bound to a decision-making process in which
opinions of editors are considered significantly less important than those of the marketing team and the accountants that dominate
the management structure.
White & MacLean Publishing is based on the idea that this model is no longer appropriate for the
modern networked world and we use a collaborative network of independent professionals who cooperate on publications on
a project-by-project basis.
Each year we aim to publish between four and six works, either as hard-copy books or as electronic documents and eBooks.

International Distribution - 21/10/2009
Following negotiations, White & MacLean are pleased to announce that international shipping centres have been established in the United Kingdom and in the USA. Although we are using a centralised ordering system, the book orders from the USA will be dispatched from our US distributor and those for the UK will be dispatched from the UK - this effectively minimises the shipping costs for those customers buying direct from the website. If any customer has been charged at the higher rate for shipping from Belgium, then a refund will be arranged.

During their academic careers, students go through a series of major changes and entering university is one of the most significant. From primary school through to the end of secondary school, they have been in a ‘protected environment’. Going to university changes all this.
In this paper Alasdair White seeks to take the established behavioural models relating to comfort zones, group and individual development, and managing change, and use them to create a methodology for understanding and managing performance.
